Following a lengthy career as a celebrated professional athlete, Leon Henry studied real estate in 2020 and joined Black Group Realty in their Ray White Epsom office the following year. An Aucklander born and raised, Leon is exceptionally well-connected and enjoys the respect and friendship of a vast network of contacts across New Zealand and the world. A long-time property investor himself, Leon has been involved both personally and now professionally with every property type from apartments and land developments to executive family homes    

Many will know Leon for his outstanding 20-year career as a basketball player in Europe, the USA and Australasia. Representing New Zealand at World Cups and Olympic Qualifying Competitions he played for the New Zealand Breakers and the Tall Blacks collecting, among other accolades three NBL and seven NZNBL championships along the way.

Leon’s real estate career has been positively impacted by the same competitive vigour he has always relied on to succeed in life. To date he has successfully transacted the sale of homes for clients across eastern, central and southern Auckland. With his local knowledge and significant database he’s able to tap into a huge network to expose his client’s home to the widest possible audience. Building trusted rapport, Leon goes in to battle to serve his clients ensuring that the outcome is the one they desire. With a resilient mindset and a tenacity to keep going until the goal is achieved, Leon guides homeowners through the process with sensitivity and understanding. Proud of his Pacific Islands heritage and having travelled and lived overseas, Leon has empathy and awareness for those relocating and adapting to a new place. 

Still dedicated to fitness, Leon runs, cycles and hikes and devotes family time to his large Samoan, Niuean and Cook Islands whanau. Compelled to always make a difference, he runs basketball coaching clinics for young people knowing that to get ahead, “Team Work Makes the Dream Work”  - a creed that underpins all aspects of his life.
