Ray White Black Group sponsored 2017 NZME Special Children’s Christmas Party

By Shawn Liu

Ray White Black Group sponsored the 2017 NZME Special Children’s Christmas Party, held at the ASB Auckland Showgrounds on Saturday, December 9th.

This amazing day gave over 2,000 children with life-threatening diseases, intellectual or physical disabilities, or those living in disadvantaged circumstances, a day they will never forget. The children were sourced from over 400 local schools and various Government, community and charitable organisations that are involved with these children on a daily basis.

It was a fun filled 3 and a half hours for the children. They received drinks, lollies, chippies, iceblocks, muesli bars, sausages & bacon, sandwiches, fruit juice, apples, etc. to keep the energy levels high. There were jumping castles, face painting, a V8 Simulator car, an SPCA petting zoo, trampolines, a photo booth, clowns, dancers, fairies, magicians, stormtroopers etc. to provide plenty of fun and entertainment! There was also an on-going stage show with heaps of entertainment and celebrities hosted by the VERY popular Jason Fa’afoi, Mr Fungus and Ritchell Maxwell.

The highlight of the day was when Santa arrived in style to greet the excited 5,000 plus crowd. It was then off to the Santa’s toy cave filled with around 8,000 amazing presents! Here, every child (according to 5 different age groups) personally met with Santa and received 3 or 4 quality gifts to call their own. The gifts this year included soft cuddly toys, lawn darts, dream girl blocks, undersea alive smart toys, DIY Block construction sets, remote-controlled stunt vehicles…and many more!

Many parents describing how it was the best day in their child’s life, to quote one Mum… “creating one memory of happiness that lessens the impact of the other things he has endured for the previous months”.

As a group, we will keep giving back to our community. We wish these very special children a bigger and even better day.
